On 11-12 April 2022, the European Congress of Local Governments, organised by the Economic Forum, was held for the seventh time. This time, the participants in the Congress met in the Mazury region – at the Gołębiewski Hotel in Mikołajki. Aneta Fornalik, barrister, participated in the event on behalf of our Law Firm.
Two days of the conference, over 10 thematic panels (Business and Management, Finance, Forum of the Culture of Regions, Economy, Innovations, Tourist Industry Exhibition, Society, Environment, War in Ukraine, Health, Sustainable Development), 100 debates and 1,500 participants – these are the figures indicating an excellent forum for exchanging views on all the current and important issues for the local governments.
The panellists and guests included many experts from various fields of local government. The event was also well attended by representatives of Parliament, ministries, central offices and institutions, as well as local government activists and lawyers.
For many years the European Congress of Local Governments has been a platform for exchanging views and a meeting place for local government leaders, regional elites with representatives of state administration, non-governmental organisations and business.
Multilateral and direct cooperation of European regions and cities in social and economic spheres has developed in recent years to a level, which exerts significant influence on politics and economy of not only individual countries, but also the entire continent.
