On 29 May 2019, at the Medical Biology Centre of the Karol Marcinkowski University of Medical Sciences in Poznań an international scientific conference was held, organised by the Chair of Medical Law, Organisation and Management in Health Care, Department of Medical Law, Department of Organisation and Management in Health Care of Poznań University of Medical Sciences and the Polish Society of Health Sciences entitled “Contemporary Challenges in the Organisation of Health Protection”, in which representatives of our Medical Law and Health Care Entities Service Department – attorney Magdalena Cieślińska-Dopierała, attorney Joanna Badke, trainee attorney Alicja Kociemba, trainee attorney Paulina Kozłowska and trainee attorney Agata Kościukiewicz – participated as listeners.
The Conference was attended by academics representing, among others, the Medical University of Sofia, the Legislation Institute of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Universita degli Studi Roma Tre, University of Szczecin, University of Wrocław, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Karol Marcinkowski University of Medical Sciences in Poznań, Poznań School of Banking, the National Institute of Public Health – National Institute of Hygiene and Ginemedica from Wrocław & Medical Continence Centres from Warsaw.
The conference consisted of three sessions, with each of them dedicated to discussing current legal issues related to the organisation of health care systems. In addition, attention was paid, among others, to the financing of health care systems, patients’ rights in the international perspective, professional responsibility of health care professionals in the European context and the enforcement of foreign judgments in the Polish legal system. The conference provided an opportunity to exchange views on the interpretation and application of legal regulations concerning the organisation of health care seen from the international perspective.
