On 13 April 2022, a National Academic Conference entitled. “Criminal law protection of health”, organized by the Lex Medica Student Study Group at the MCSU, took place in a remote form.
One of the speakers at the event was barrister Paulina Kozłowska, who presented a lecture entitled “Does the Good Samaritan clause constitute an instrument of real defence in criminal proceedings?”.
The aim of the lecture was to present the new legal regulation and the doubts regarding the possibility of its application as a measure aimed at excluding criminal liability of selected medical professionals for the so-called “medical errors” committed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The lecture also presented examples of cases from the practice of Ms. Kozłowska, who provides ongoing legal aid, as well as represents medical professionals and healthcare entities in proceedings connected with irregularities in the provision of healthcare services.
