Start of the trial for the poisoning of the River Warta

On 2 February 2022, the trial in the Warta poisoning case, which occurred in 2015, began in the District Court for Poznań-Stare Miasto. 

The defendant Piotr M. did not admit to committing the alleged act, and the defence counsels of the accused – barrister Paweł Sowisło, barrister Monika Gruszczyńska and barrister Urszula Nowaczyk – take the position that during the investigation lasting several years the Prosecutor’s Office did not gather any evidence proving that the defendant committed the offence.
