Attorneys specialising in providing legal assistance to medical entities took part in the 10th Medical Law Congress

The jubilee 10th Medical Law Congress organised by the Polish Medical Law Association was held on 2-3 December 2021. Due to the epidemic situation, the meeting of practitioners and theoreticians of law as well as medical professionals and employees of medical entities was held online.

The Congress, as in previous years, was attended by representatives of the Department of Medical Law and Services for Healthcare Entities at our Law Firm: attorney-at-law Ewelina Jeglikowska, attorney-at-law Magdalena Cieślińska-Dopierała, attorney-at-law Anna Piotrowska-Musioł, and attorney-at-law Joanna Zielińska.

This event has for many years provided an opportunity to exchange views on current issues and problems of medical law. This year’s meeting was aimed primarily at discussing legal issues connected with the still existing state of the epidemic, as well as analysing regulations concerning the liability of medical personnel for actions taken and compensation for claims submitted by patients.

The Congress discussed, among others, the issues connected with limitations on the rights of individuals in connection with the pandemic, amendment to the provisions of the Act on the Professions of Physician and Dental Surgeon concerning the rules and procedures for conducting medical experiments and evaluation of the functioning of the Act on Medical Activity.

The information obtained during the Congress will certainly be used by the attorneys of the Department of Medical Law and Services for Healthcare Entities as part of the comprehensive legal services they render to many private and public health care entities across the country.
