14th Medical Law Congress in Krakow

The 14th Medical Law Congress in Kraków once again provided a forum for inspiring debates and the exchange of experiences between healthcare leaders and medical law experts.

In the historic auditorium of the Collegium Novum at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, our firm was represented by: Attorney-at-law Magdalena Cieślińska-Dopierała, Attorney-at-law Anna Piotrowska-Musioł, Attorney-at-law Michał Górski, Attorney-at-law Paulina Kozłowska and Attorney-at-law Przemysław Czerniawski.

This year’s edition of the Congress, organised by the Polish Society for Medical Law, focused on the key challenges facing the healthcare sector. The five thematic sessions covered topics including:

  •  protecting healthcare professionals against violence and hate speech,
  •  liability for medical negligence – from a clinical and legal perspective,
  •  the most common legal issues faced by healthcare providers,
  •  current trends in patient claims,
  •  new developments in medical law.

During the discussion, the growing incidence of aggression towards medical staff was addressed, along with the need for a firm response to such incidents, particularly within the framework of criminal law.

The experts also examined issues relating to liability for healthcare services that utilise artificial intelligence, the risks associated with AI-based medical devices, as well as cybersecurity and the protection of healthcare infrastructure against acts of sabotage

Our participation in the Congress is not only an opportunity to share practical experiences, but also a chance to develop cooperation, build relationships and keep abreast of the latest developments in the healthcare sector.
